We are engaged by large teaching hospitals to provide various services: Team Building, Outplacement services for reductions in management workforce, Executive Coaching and Stress Management for Senior Management, Management Development for middle management and a Train the Trainer program for Conflict Management in the Workplace. The Conflict Management program was designed to develop an internal resource for the organization. The workshop participants learned mediation, coaching and conflict management skills, as well as learning how to deliver and administer conflict management workshops to groups of Supervisors in different sectors of the hospital. While Turning Points designed and delivered the program, we defined the parameters, needs and objectives in collaboration with the Training & Development and Labor Relations Departments of the Hospital.
A major Organizational Development project was initiated in 4 different ambulatory care sites concurrently. This process was designed as an interdisciplinary team building effort which included assessment and diagnosis, survey feedback, co-leadership sessions, various skill building trainings (i.e., communications, mission/vision development, team building, conflict management, SWOT analysis), evaluations, summary analysis, feedback and recommendations for future actions and continued monitoring measures.
We partnered with the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology and its Residency Training Program. This work was multi-layered and initiated in order to satisfy new requirements by the ACGME to establish a training component into the Residency Training Curriculum that develops interpersonal skills and relationship skills alongside the clinical development of the resident. Work included Executive Coaching/Leadership Development of Chairman, Revision of the Mission and Vision statement of the Department, Interpersonal skills with Residents and Attending Physicians, Development and Implementation of a Mentoring program. We also completed a comprehensive revision of the interviewing and selection process for new Residents. Evaluation forms used in the Residency Training Program were revised to more accurately measure performance based on competencies established by ACGME Outcomes Project.
A series of training workshops were developed and delivered for the OR nursing staff. The workshops were requested by the Nursing Director of OR in an effort to reduce conflict and improve functioning of the nursing team.
Stress Management and Time Management Programs were developed and delivered to multi-disciplinary teams of a large not-for-profit community based center at a full day staff development symposium.
The current Executive Coaching clients include Chairmen of Various Hospital Departments, Medical Directors of several Ambulatory Care practices, Owners of privately owned medical practices, Attorneys, Director of Training and Development in a High -Tech multi national company, COO of an E-Commerce company. Executive Level Consultant in Managed Care Delivery Systems, Managing Partners of a turnaround firm.
In a voluntary capacity Ms.Gafni-Weiss works with communally based organizations. Organizations such as Jewish Hospice of Greater New York and Employment Enhancement Services are two such examples. The scope of service includes enhancing marketing and outreach efforts into additional boroughs of NYC and the supporting systems and structural changes to facilitate those goals. As well, Ms. Gafni is involved in strategic planning for a community-based organization in Queens, created to reduce drug use among youth at risk.
Additionally, there are many active career transition clients from various fields. Part of our strength and expertise is in developing trust, assessing and diagnosing real needs and providing strategic solutions to business problems. This is accomplished through a collaborative partnership with clients and the ability to customize programs that deliver results.
